Scrum accelerates teams so quickly that actually measuring their status can be difficult. In some ways they are similar to fighter aircraft: inherently unstable and must constantly correct to stay within the correct flight envelope. Just like the cockpit gauges of a fighter aircraft, Scrum Teams need a set of reliable, lightweight metrics so that Team Performance can be easily monitored and quickly corrected if problems arise. But the very act of collecting metrics can slow teams down…so what is the right way to do it?
